burlesque.

so this saturday was the burlesque show. my newly formed band, meadow and the larks, opened for it; we'd had two weeks of preparation, and it was our first gig apart from one open mic night at coal creek.

with a captive audience of over a hundred people, we played a few folk songs, some originals, a cover of whatever you like/pursuit of happiness, and an oldie but goodie, unchained melody.

all in all, it was an awesome amount of fun. the burlesque girls did their thing (and they did it well), and the after-party at the ruffed up duck was a lot of fun. i love performing, and being in an ensemble with some lovely ladies is definitely nothing to complain about. we're planning on recording an ep soon, so i will post some tuneage as soon as possible.
